Nurturing the Next Generation of CPAs: The Oregon CPA Foundation Scholarship

The Oregon CPA Foundation is dedicated to supporting the academic and professional growth of aspiring accountants in Oregon. Offering scholarships to students at various educational levels, the Foundation focuses on developing future Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).

Eligibility

  1. Oregon University Students: Undergraduate accounting majors, post baccalaureate, and master’s program students attending an accredited Oregon university full-time are eligible for scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $3,500 for the Fall 2024 through Summer 2025 terms.
  2. Community College Transfer Students: Full-time Oregon community college students, including Oregon residents at out-of-state community colleges planning to transfer to an accredited Oregon university to major in accounting, are eligible for $2,500 scholarships.
  3. First-Year Community College Students: First-year Oregon community college students studying accounting and enrolling full-time in their second year are eligible for a $500 scholarship.

Selection Criteria

  • Academic Performance: Excellence in academic achievements is a primary consideration.
  • Career Aspiration: Applicants must intend to pursue a CPA career within Oregon.
  • Financial Need: Scholarships are allocated for tuition and book expenses.
  • GPA Requirement: Minimum of 3.2 GPA in accounting/business classes and an overall cumulative GPA of 3.2.

Awards

Scholarships are awarded in the spring for the Fall 2024 through Summer 2025 terms. OSCPA Educational Foundation encourages students to explore the CPA profession and to become an OSCPA Student Member, which is free for students.

Application Requirements

  • Complete the online Oregon University & Community College Application.
  • Upload unofficial transcripts including courses through December 31, 2023.
  • Online educator reference must be received for the application to be considered complete.

Post Application Requirement

Scholarship recipients are expected to submit official transcripts before the award is funded.
